Identify the laptop model

The exact model name is usually on a label on the back of the laptop. You need it to identify the laptop model.

Alternatively, you can find it out using the Windows Command Prompt.

Finding out your model name and serial number using the Command Prompt

First, you will need to open a command Prompt. To do this, press the Windows key, then type "cmd" and press enter.

To find out, what the model name of your notebook is enter the following in the Command Prompt and press the enter key:

wmic csproduct get name

To find out, what the serial number of your notebook is, enter the following in the Command Prompt and press the enter key:

wmic bios get serialnumber

Indication: You can see here, where the serial number or the SNID code is located.
